Zuerst werden wir mit einem Schluck Vodka auf das Geburtstagskind, die Lomo LC-A anstossen. In der imposanten Säulenhalle des MAK kannst du dann die beeindruckende, zehn Meter lange LomoWall voller Bilder des “shoot like a 25 year old” Wettbewerbs bewundern, die extra für dieses Event gebaut wurde. Ausserdem haben wir 11 Künstler und Architekten eingeladen, uns ihre Sicht auf und durch die Lomo LC-A vorzustellen.

Calling all you lomographers in the Los Angeles area! We’re having an adventure and you know you’re in the mood for an adventure (oh, I know you are). And in the spirit of the summer weather that just decided to blow in, we’re spending the day at the beach, kinda.

We’ll be meeting up on the walk (Ocean Front Walk) and N. Venice Blvd. And then the fun begins! We’ll be mingling with the freaks, sampling the native foods, and (of course) burning through as much film as physically possible. So come ready to walk and with an itchy trigger finder because Venice is sure to not disappoint.

Como una leyenda, el origen de la cámara Diana está envuelta en misterios. La versión popular dice así: allá por los años sesenta, una pequeña compañía de Hong Kong, la Great Wall Plastic Factory, creó una baratija de cámara de medio formato a la que bautizó con el nombre de “Diana”. Por lo visto, aquella cámara original tuvo bastante éxito, dentro y fuera de las fronterasta . Se fabricaron unos cientos de clones, convirtiéndose en una cámara muy popular, al alcance de todos los bolsillos y con unas características ideales para la experimentación y la creatividad, aplicando el lema de “cualquiera es artista”.
